What is anchor text and why is it important? by Foster Web Marketing

This was a question that we received today during our 30/60/90 day webinar with Communications and Estate guru Dave Frees.

I can’t stress the importance of using keywords that you’d like to rank for in the anchor text of your links enough. It is probably THE most important factor when it comes to Google and other search engines deciding what keywords and/or phrases you’d like to rank for, and making sure that you’re aware of what anchor text other sites are using when linking back to you is very important.

Check out this backlink anchor text analyzer tool to be sure that you’re aware of what anchor text other sites are using when they rank to you, and of course you can shoot them a quick e-mail asking them to change it if you’d like.
